About us

Renting in Nigeria should feel safe, simple and fair.

Faxton Rentals is a rental marketplace being built for Nigeria, starting in Lagos. This is who we are and what we stand for.

Our story

Why we’re building Faxton

Finding a rental home in Nigeria is slow, stressful and risky.

Listings go out of date. Costs show up late: agency fees, legal fees, a caution deposit and service charge on top of the rent. It can be hard to know who to trust, and a viewing can mean meeting a stranger at an empty property. Too often, renters feel they have to take people’s word for it.

Faxton Rentals is our answer: one app that shows the real cost up front, helps you check who you’re dealing with, keeps the conversation, the offer and the proof of payment on record, and gives you safety tools when you go to see a home.

We’re launching in Lagos first.

Our mission

Make renting a home in Nigeria clear, safe and stress-free, for renters, owners, agencies and agents alike.

What we stand for

Four values we build by

  • Trust

Verified agents and agencies, email-verified accounts, and a way to report anyone who breaks your trust.

  • Safety

Viewing safety tools, an emergency button, and the power to block and report.

  • Simplicity

One app from the first search to the day you move in: messages, viewings, offers, payments and My Home.

  • Transparency

The true cost of renting up front, area ratings labelled as estimates, and every offer and payment on record.

How we verify

Checks before the green badge

A Verified badge in the app means the Faxton team has reviewed someone’s details. Here’s what that involves.

Verification is a check, not a guarantee. Always view a home in person, and only pay into the account shown in the app or confirmed by your agent in Messages.

  1. Email-verified accountsNew accounts confirm their email address before they can use the app.
  2. Agencies share their business detailsBusiness name, CAC registration number, the registrar’s details, office address and contact details.
  3. Agents share their ID detailsAn ID or licence number, a phone number, experience and the areas they cover.
  4. The Faxton team reviews each requestAgainst a checklist: the name matches the account, a registration or licence number is provided, and the contact details look genuine. Only then does the Verified badge appear.
  5. Listings are reviewed before they go liveThe team can approve a listing, ask for changes or decline it.

Launching in Lagos

We’re starting in Lagos.

A note from the team

Built by Isaac John and the Faxton team

We started with a simple belief: finding a home shouldn’t feel like a gamble.

We’re building Faxton Rentals with the people who will use it in mind, and we want to hear from renters, owners, agents and agencies. We’ll tell you plainly what works and what doesn’t yet. There’s no launch date announced, pricing for owners and agents hasn’t been decided, and some things, like card payments, are still to come.

If you have an idea, a complaint or a story about renting in Nigeria, we’d really like to hear it. Write to us on the Contact page.
