Rent payments
How rent payments work
Faxton doesn’t hold your money and doesn’t collect card data. You pay the owner or agent directly, and prove it in the app.
Agree the amount
The app shows the true cost of moving in. Your agent confirms the final figures before you pay.
Pay the owner or agent
Usually by bank transfer, to the account shown in the app. Keep your bank’s receipt.
Upload your proof
Tell us you’ve paid with your bank reference and, ideally, a screenshot or a small PDF.
Approval and receipt
The owner, agent or Faxton team checks it and confirms. Confirmed payments get a receipt.
Only pay into the bank account shown in the app, or confirmed by your agent in Messages. Never pay into any other account. Card payments aren’t available yet.
Owners, agencies and agents
Pricing is announced before launch.
Listing plans and any fees for home owners, agencies and agents haven’t been announced yet. We’d rather tell you nothing than guess. Join the waitlist to hear first.
Not announced yetInvoices and receipts
Your proofs and receipts stay in your account.
Payment proofs and receipts are kept in your account. When a payment is confirmed, a receipt appears on your Payments page and in Documents, and you can print it or save it as a PDF.
Billing questions
Quick answers
Can’t find yours? Ask us, or open the Help centre in the app.
Is Faxton free to use?
For renters, yes: searching, chatting, booking viewings and making offers cost nothing. Listing plans and any fees for home owners, agencies and agents haven’t been announced yet. Pricing is announced before launch.
How do I pay rent?
You pay the owner or agent directly, usually by bank transfer to the account shown in the app. Then you tell us you’ve paid, with your bank reference and, if you can, a screenshot of the receipt, so it can be confirmed.
How do I get a receipt?
Once a payment is confirmed, a receipt button appears on your Payments page and in Documents. You can print it or save it as a PDF. Payment proofs and receipts are kept in your account.
Can I get a refund?
Rent and deposits are paid to the owner or agent, not to Faxton, so refunds follow your agreement with them and their policy. The caution deposit is meant to come back at the end of your tenancy, once the home has been checked and any outstanding charges are settled. If something goes wrong, tell us through the Help centre or the Contact page and our team will help where we can.
Does Faxton take a share of my rent?
Rent is paid to the owner or agent, not to Faxton. What owners, agencies and agents will pay Faxton hasn’t been announced yet.
Can I pay by card?
Not yet. Card payments aren’t available, and Faxton doesn’t collect card details. Bank transfer is how rent is paid today.
